Fatten up,<\/div>\n<div>and I will like you better.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Your brother will be first,<\/div>\n<div>you must wait your turn.<\/div>\n<div>Feed him yourself, you will<\/div>\n<div>learn to do it. You will take him<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>eggs with yellow sauce, muffins<\/div>\n<div>torn apart and leaking butter, fried meats<\/div>\n<div>late in the morning, and always sweets<\/div>\n<div>in a sticky parade from the kitchen.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>His vigilance, an ice pick of \u200a\u200ahunger<\/div>\n<div>pricking his insides, will melt<\/div>\n<div>in the unctuous cream fillings.<\/div>\n<div>He will forget. He will thank you<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>for it. His little finger stuck every day<\/div>\n<div>through cracks in the bars<\/div>\n<div>will grow sleek and round,<\/div>\n<div>his hollow face swell<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>like the moon. He will stop dreaming<\/div>\n<div>about fear in the woods without food.<\/div>\n<div>He will lean toward the maw<\/div>\n<div>of\u200a\u200a the oven as it opens<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>every afternoon, sighing<\/div>\n<div>better and better smells.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Witch Has Told You a Story BY\u00a0AVA LEAVELL HAYMON (2013) You are food.
